Shan dong Art and Design College founded in 1985, was certificated to be one of the National Higher Education Schools for degree certificate by Shandong Provincial Education Department. In recent twenty years, thousands of higher talented man graduated from our school. It gas contributed a lot to our country's fine arts education: and got very good social reputation and influence. It also has formed characteristics and its particular advantages.

At the end of 20 th century, it change into private college from public college. Through more than twenty years expanding and development, it has become a fulltime college of arts with outstanding characteristics. Its majors include art design of advertisement, costume project and design, art design of environment, computer art, art and business reach, model design of industrial products, oil painting, sculpture, Chinese painting, music and performance and so on. All the majors in our college is market oriented, closely connected with society and aimed at employment. All our graduate students are not enough to the demand lf our society. Our graduate students' employment rate is 100%. Most of our graduate students work in Shanghai 、 Beijing and other big city of china. By 2003,our graduate students have exceeded ten thousand, some of them have become leaders or taken an important seat in companies. In 2002, permitted by Shandong Provincial Education Department, Qinghua university, Jing De Zhen Ceramics College and South China Normal University have founded Web education center in our college. In 2003, permitted by Jinan Education Bureau, our college founded an art senior middle school. At present, our college has a rigorous entrance requirement. Our students will graduate from our college with degree of bachelor or master. We also insist on market-oriented and practical principle, make our students get special acknowledges and academic achievements.
We have erudite teachers and sufficient Fund, very good basic conditions, and standard management system. There are a number of distinguished people and experts in our college in the long school running history. Mr. Xi Ning, fine arts educator and pioneer of our province, reputation Chairman of Shandong painting and calligraphy Academy is our reputation President. Mr. Zhu Ming ,a famous reviewer on fine arts history, associate Chairman of Shandong People's Political Consultative conference is our academic President. Mr. Nie Hongli, commissary of Shandong People's Political Consultative Conference, associate Chairman and head of secretaries of Shandong Painting and Calligraphy. Academy is our President (legal person). Our college has a batch of teachers with great scholastic achievements. This batch of teachers constructed with the old, the middle-age and the young, possessing real strength, have brave to dedicate themselves to art education. We also establish a complete management and quality checking system to ensure the teaching quality. We have an outline of running school in which we regard art education as our characteristic, accomplishment education the core, vocational education the goal. Now we have more than 15 hundred students and 162teachers (full-time and part-time). Among the 162teachers, 109teachers are full-time. During the full-time teachers, 58 teachers have the senior title post and 102 teachers have got a bachelor's degree. We have advanced equipment such as: web education classroom, fine arts gallery, figure training hall, library, reading room and so on. After new students coming to our college, we carry out nearly half a year's military teaching management and give them education of basic abilities such as morality, career design, ability of surviving and fitness, ability of cooperation and competition. Then students can minor courses in the courses we given according to the demand of market and dreams of themselves. After this, we will give them a year's education of teacher's studio with famous teachers and practical teaching. Our students can master one to three kinds of popular skills and become special talented men with good ability of market competition.

In order to enhance our strength of running school, we have developed a new way in which we cooperate with other colleges and companies to obtain resource sharing mutual benefit and common development. Firstly, we build Huangtai new campus which located at the top of Huangtai hills of Jinan with Huangtai Group. Then we build Zhonggong south campus which located at the scenic spot of south Jinan. We have formed a new mode of education group and brought a new management system. Our college covers an area of 285 mu. The whole building area is over 88 thousand square meters. In order to comply with the development of modern time and bring up talented men, our college has cooperated and communicated with some art colleges in 8 countries such as: Australia, France and Italia. These colleges will recommend students to study in our college, so that we can catch up with the education development of the world and make a good foundation for international education competition.
